Graphic Design
I'm Ian Conlon, Graphic Designer
With 10+ years of experience specializing in Packaging Design, Brand Licensing, and Retail Strategy for consumer goods companies. Detail-oriented, collaborative, and always focused on design that performs on shelf.
I've managed licensed brands including Ed Hardy end-to-end — from brand approval through production — and designed multi-SKU systems for brands like Bob Mackie, XOXO, Zoo York, and Rebecca Minkoff. When I'm not designing, you'll find me playing guitar, collecting vinyl, or on the basketball court.
I managed the Ed Hardy license end-to-end — from brand approval and art direction through final production specs — bringing Don Ed Hardy's iconic tattoo imagery into a full eyewear collection. The range spans fashion sunglasses and technical ski goggles, each carrying the brand's bold, graphic DNA while meeting the practical demands of the category.
Working directly with the licensor, I developed structural dielines, coordinated print placement across frame substrates, and ensured every piece passed both aesthetic and compliance review before going to production.

Packaging design for Bob Mackie's reading glasses line — bringing the designer's signature bold prints and color sensibility into retail-ready packaging. Each pack features a distinctive pattern system, from leopard and tropical florals to graphic geometrics, coordinated across multiple SKUs.
Designed as gift-worthy multi-packs with a hang-ribbon detail, the packaging had to balance visual excitement on shelf with a clear product view and brand hierarchy.

Retail packaging for XOXO's blue light blocking readers — a category that needed to feel both functional and fashionable. The mint-and-white color system is clean and approachable, with the "Blue Light Blockers" badge as the hero callout.
Designed as a hang-tag retail unit with a clear window to showcase the frame, the packaging communicates the tech benefit without losing the brand's playful, feminine energy.
Eyewear design and licensing work for Rebecca Minkoff — a brand known for its effortlessly cool, fashion-forward aesthetic. Translating that downtown New York sensibility into a sunglasses collection required a precise balance of luxury cues and wearable silhouettes.
The work spanned frame development, colorway direction, and temple artwork — maintaining brand DNA across a multi-SKU line from classic to statement styles.
